Leawood’s annual Fourth of July celebration will be bigger than ever in 2026 as our nation commemorates 250 years of independence and as our community welcomes visitors from around the world to celebrate alongside us.
Tomahawk Creek Parkway Parade — Morning Event
Start your Fourth with our morning parade along the newly reconstructed and beautifully improved Tomahawk Creek Parkway, a community tradition that brings neighbors, local organizations, and visitors together for a festive, family-friendly kickoff to Independence Day.

Celebration in the Park — Evening Event
Our Independence Day celebration in City Park will include enhanced fireworks accompanied by patriotic music to honor America’s 250th birthday. Families can enjoy food vendors, activities, and live entertainment throughout the evening.
Complimentary shuttle service will operate throughout the day, making it easy to enjoy the park, parade route, and nearby viewing areas.
